About 21East Films
We come from traditional filmmaking, from sets and locations, from working with actors, cinematographers, and sound designers, from the slow, careful craft of telling stories one frame at a time. That foundation still shapes everything we do.
21East Films is a Vienna-based film production studio reimagining filmmaking at the intersection of cinematic tradition and generative AI. The studio was founded in 2024 by award-winning filmmaker Alex Klim, who brings over two decades of international film experience to its work. Across commercials, documentaries, image films, short films, and music videos, Alex has collaborated with global icons such as Lionel Messi, Jennifer Lopez, and Trevor Noah, and produced for clients including Porsche, Qatar Airways, Vodafone and the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra. That craft is the foundation 21East is built on.
Our mission is to create films that don't just impress visually, but move audiences emotionally. By blending innovation with storytelling craft, 21East Films is shaping a new era of motion pictures, where creativity and technology work hand in hand to unlock fresh perspectives on cinema.
Our Production APPROACH
Every film we make is the result of a curated dialogue between tools, chosen scene by scene, shot by shot, voice by voice. With every new model, we can realize more of what we have always wanted to make.
We work across the full landscape of generative cinema. Each with its own temperament, its own way of handling light and motion.
Behind every frame stands a choreography of decisions. Which model for which moment, which prompt phrased in which way, which reference image, which take among dozens. None of it happens on its own. Every shot, every line of dialogue, every cue of music is shaped by human judgment, written, directed, curated, and refined by the people behind the camera that no longer exists.
The stack evolves with the medium itself. New models arrive almost weekly, and we welcome them, but only when they serve the story.
